Happy New Year to everyone - now it's time to get cracking...!

I trust you all had a good and restful yuletide period - I know we did. Anyway, there's been plenty of time for working at stuff and the brand new Mick Thomas solo album is finished and ready to go. Recorded in Portland Oregon earlier this year with Darren Hanlon producing it's been mastered over there and the cover art is almost finished (more about that soon). It is going to be called The Last of the Tourists and it is slated to be out on Liberation Records late February 2012. At present we are working hard to get a good looking tour in place for February through to April and it's shaping up a treat. Expect some announcements regarding that in the coming weeks as well as some great promotional offers.

Mick's Monthly Music Club #2 is up and running and just as good as it was the first time around. Here's what the first four months of this season have yielded:
JULY - Four new tracks, two new videos, a chord chart and celebrity recipe (Zane Lynd's Sausage Rolls).
AUG - Five new tracks, a new video, a chord chart and Sarah Carroll's Lemon Tea Cake recipe.
SEPT - One new track, six new videos (recorded live in Copenhagen), one chord chart and Michael Barclay's Lamb Shank recipe.
OCT - Five new instrumental tracks from an ABC series I worked on last year, a new video, chord chart, Anna Burley's Cassoulet recipe.
NOV - The collaborations edition featuring five new songs - duets with the likes of Ben Salter, Shane Nicholson, James Blundell and Felicity Urquhart, chord chart, new video and a celebrity recipe from Georgia Fields.
DEC - A video of a full show from Toronto with myself and Squeezebox Wally being backed by the Lowest of the Low. One brand new, never before or since played tune which brought the house down on the night.

All you do is subscribe through our easy to use Paypal facility and we send you the passwords each month and away you go. There's no problem signing up late - you just get a six month's worth in one first hit.

The Shackleton album is finally out. It's called Just Turning Pages and features fifteen - count 'em FIFTEEN!!! - cracking modern folk tracks recorded in the space of a single day earlier 2011. Anna sings about half, I sing about a quarter, Liz Stringer sings one and the rest we all just wail away. About three quarters are covers and it's a stack of fun and a blessed relief to finally have it out there. It's available from the Shop page on this site or through iTunes.

Chonk On and see you at a show!.. MJT, January 2012
